Tips for maintaining your piano

Your piano is a living being, sensitive to the seasons and its environment. For it to continue to vibrate with accuracy and offer you a precise touch, it deserves special attention: tuning, mechanical adjustment, and voicing. At Pianos Guillaume, I put my expertise at the service of your musical pleasure so that your instrument remains a faithful ally. By combining good habits at home with my craftsmanship, we will allow your piano to reveal its most beautiful soul.

A true living being made of wood and metal, your piano needs regular attention to sing fully. Tuning, touch regulation, and voicing are essential to rediscover the pleasure of playing. By entrusting this care to a passionate craftsman, you give your instrument a second youth and rediscover sincere musical emotion every day.

01

Tuning frequency

To ensure your piano stays in tune despite changes in temperature and humidity throughout the seasons, I recommend having it tuned at least once a year. This regular care stabilizes its structure and ensures consistent playing comfort all year round.

02

Ideal conditions

To protect the wood and the mechanics, place your piano away from direct sunlight and heating, in a room with stable humidity (ideally between 45% and 65%). These simple precautions allow your instrument to breathe and maintain its tuning over time.

03

Daily best practices

Preferably use a soft duster for the furniture and a slightly dampened soft cloth for the keys. Also, remember to close the lid after each session to protect the felts and the mechanism from dust.
